Sunday 4th May 2025
11 of us set off on the walk to Kirk fell on Sunday. The weather was dry but breezy and chilly at times. Some of the hills were a bit strenuous at times but everyone managed them ok. We had a second morning break just before the scramble to give people an extra boost and it seemed to help as everyone enjoyed doing it.
We took lunch just below the summit of Kirk fell as it was too windy on the tops. We had fantastic views all day, especially of the sca fells and Great Gable. Like to thank Jean for providing us with some home made flapjack and sweetie as it was her birthday on Sunday...
Many thanks to all who joined us...

Sunday May 4th B Walk
A cooler day than of late but we still enjoyed this 8.5 mile ramble. We also welcomed new recruits Tash and Mark
The main event of the walk was the heroic rescue of a lamb who had got itself entangled in a wire fence
Despite its unwillingness to be rescued we managed to free the little blighter and return it safely to mum unharmed.

Bluebell Walk.
A group of 23 joined me for the bluebell walk. We ambled through several woods where the bluebells were still blooming in profusion and also admired many other wild flowers. We also heard a cuckoo!
Lunch was on the banks of the river Esk, before we walked along to skippers bridge and on down the opposite bank before returning by the round house to the delights of first bite.
Thanks to Alison and Ming for backmarking.
Kind regards.

Tuesday walk 20th May
A lovely day for a seaside walk, but unfortunately no one met me to take the bus to Flimby. I enjoyed the walk and half way to Maryport I was met by Hazel and Ros who walked with me for a short while. We met again on the quay for a cone of chips before returning to Carlisle.

Ennerdale.
Fourteen defied the weatherman and headed down to Ennerdale. We proved him wrong again with a fine day if a bit windy. All three tops done, Grike, Crag Fell and Lank Rigg. The day was rounded off nicely in the cafe in Ennerdale for tea and cakes. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it a very good day.
