The Annual club holiday for 2026 will be at the HF Holidays Country House in Dovedale Derbyshire.

Named "The Peveril of the Peak" after Sir Walter Scott’s Peak District-set novel, this characterful country house is less than a mile from the famous Dovedale Stepping Stones and on the doorstep of Thorpe Cloud, a cone-shaped limestone hill that offers impressive views over the rolling green landscape that forms the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border. Both are easily accessible from the rear of the property. 

There are plenty of big-name walking destinations nearby including the Roaches, the impressive Stanage Edge, and the Twelve Apostles - a group of rock spires best viewed from the limestone promontory known as Lover’s Leap. 

 

This is a self guided holiday so we have to organise our own walks. There will be a short walk/ meet up on the way to the hotel.

Dovedale is approximately a 3 and 1/2 hour drive from Carlisle.

 

The price for the holiday will be £499 (was £549) per person. This is for four nights full board including packed lunches. 

HF now adds on a single person supplement, so £25 per room will have to be added to the basic price for anyone taking a single room.

A deposit of £175 per person is required by HF to reserve a place. This is non refundable and you would need to find someone to take your place if you were unable to attend. The remaining balance is due six weeks before the start date.

There are a limited number of rooms available up to a maximum of 12 single and 9 double/twin rooms.
